Our Brand name Siroi has been inspired by the beautiful and unique, one of its kind blossom Lilium Mackliniae, the Shirui lily found only in the picturesque landscape of the Shirui hill ranges in Manipur, India.
The name itself captures the essence of our brand, it is based on the origin of the Novelty items we are catering to our clients, simply to demonstrate the authenticity of our rare and unique product line.
Our Product line consists of indigenous hand-crafted Water Reed/Club Rush (locally known as Kouna) handbags, purses and trinket/ accessory boxes made by the local artisans of my hometown, Manipur. It is my way of showing appreciation and adoration for my fellow Manipuris, who have passionately retained the renowned traditional art of Kouna weaving traditional handloom

Grass reed is usually grown and largely cultivated in the marsh wetlands of Manipur. These long water reeds have huge potential for large scale plantation, production and marketing of various products such as cushions, mats, baskets, handbags, laundry baskets and furniture. They are eco-friendly and hand woven which is durable and washable. Many locals in Manipur women are earning their livelihood through this indigenous craft and supporting their families.
Both Siroi and Kouna are synonymous with Manipur. Siroi Design has the vision to showcase these unique and rare handwoven products of my state and my country. We want to do our bit in promoting our fabulous local handicraft and aim at empowering the hardworking women artisans whole heartedly.
